Desirée Amorette is an actor, writer, and storyteller born in New Mexico and raised in Seattle—like a grunge Frasier. Despite coming from a Navy family with more than 300 years of combined service, she grew up immersed in theatre, opera, ballet, literature, and film.

When her financial aid to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts unexpectedly fell through, Desirée took a slight detour and joined the U.S. Army. She deployed to Iraq as the only woman attached to an infantry battalion before returning to Los Angeles to continue her training at AADA.

She has additionally studied with Anthony Meindl and Howard Fine, appeared in the award-winning independent film series Ca$h Out, and was selected for the Writers Guild Foundation’s Veterans Writing Program.

Desirée is drawn to stories of complicated women, emotional truth, dark humor, and glamour. Her other artistic pursuits include dance, burlesque and makeup artistry— with a lifelong love of Halloween and old Hollywood.
